Derby

£7.7 million of Urban II funding, a scheme which supports innovative strategies to regenerate cities and urban areas, has been allocated to the Derby City Partnership to support regeneration in the Normanton area of Derby. The programme, known as 'The Spirit of Normanton', supports a range of community driven projects which seek to tackle issues such as unemployment, exclusion and crime within a multi-ethnic inner city area.
Future Constructors - The project provided training in construction trade skills for young people. It offered training during and after the course for participants, with access to building sites offering an NVQ and provided them with real work experience opportunities. £1,450,000
Derby Loans - A not-for-profit organisation that exists to offer affordable credit to people excluded from loans that want start-up and develop businesses. £ 90,914
